DAC DRIFT ATLANTIC CROSSING 2024

Drift Atlantic Crossing is a project of Sigma-Marine Yachting School, which involves crossing the Atlantic Ocean from East to West from the Canary Islands to the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea.

The project is carried out on a catamaran without the use of engines or sails drifting under the influence of winds and currents only.

Objective of the project:

Study of existing currents in the Atlantic Ocean, collection of scientific information in the field of oceanology, meteorology, Ocean ecology, etc.

Route:

Start - EL Hierro Island (Canary Islands).

Finish - Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea.

Season:

November 2024 - January 2025

Approximately 2700 nautical miles

Voyage duration:

About 60 days +/-
